I'm going to start by stating the obvious I freakin love this dress lol!!! But I do have to admit that I was just a little hesitant when I received it. I wasn't sure about the neck tie and the length of the dress. Being almost 5'8 maxi dresses and gowns sometimes are not your best friend. Heel length and dress length must be compatible. This dress actually didn't capture me until I put it on and started walking around in it (I hope that's not weird I'll literally do 5 laps in my condo lmbo). Once I put my heels on and let my hair down it was all over from there, I was hooked. The split may seem like the normal split size but once you find your stride that split is so daring and sleek. I absolutely love showing off my stems and this dress let me do just that. I paired it with my favorite shoes in my closet, I know I say that in every post :-) but I mean it this time I swear. My Jimmy Choo gladiator sandals are really my dream come true shoes.
This dress is by designer Jill Stuart, she's an amazing designer who designs for the modern sophisticated woman. The fabric and print was so beautiful and flattering, very easy and light. I tend to stay away from polka dots but these were the perfect size and the perfect amount. The fit overall was pretty good, not as fitted in the torso as I would have liked but still a nice fit. As for the bow I went back in forth on how I felt about it. Didn't know if I should tie it to the back, front, or just let them hang. I ordered this dress for a Breakfast at Tiffany's styled brunch, so I wore some pearls with the dress. Once I put the pearls on it was all the inspiration I needed and from there it only felt right to keep the bow up front.
These shoes seriously make me speechless. When they first were introduced in 2013 I craved them but they were so expensive and out of my budget at the time. But these tribal beauties adorned with removable feathers really stole my heart. My plan was to snag a pair when they went on sale but after while I'd given up hope because it seemed as if the shoes were selling out everywhere. Then finally the shoes went on sale but of course the availability was already so scarce because so many were sold at the regular price. Just when I thought it was all over I was shopping here in Atlanta and something told me to just stop by the Jimmy Choo store and there they were someone had returned a pair IN MY SIZE. And every fashionista knows that when something like that happens you blame fate and just splurge now and worry later lol. I felt as if the shoe gods were in my favor and I took those babies home that day and have been cherishing them ever since.
